The D-U-N-S Number is used to establish your company’s D&B® file, which can help potential partners and lenders learn more about your business, and may also help them make more informed decisions about whether or not to work with you as a client, supplier, or partner. More importantly, FDA now uses this number to identify your business and assess risk for imported goods subject to FDA enforcement.

If you don't have a D-U-N-S number, here's how to get one:

  1. Go to Dun & Bradstreet website here

  2. Select "I have a U.S. based business" from the drop down menu

  3. Search using your name and state

  4. If no results are returned, click "Get a New D-U-N-S Number" at the bottom or click here

  5. Follow the instructions

You might receive an automated email stating it will take about 30 days to be assigned the D-U-N-S, but in our experience, the turnaround is usually 3 to 4 days.

If you don't have any time to wait, we can file your entry without a D-U-N-S, but the lack of a number might elevate the risk level, resulting in an inspection at the time of import.
